Planet Chasers is a 2014 American animated science fiction action film produced by TjsWorld2011 Pictures and NovaStar Animation for 20th Century Fox. It was the eleventh feature film from TW2011 Pictures, as well as the eighth from NovaStar Animation, and tells the story of a young pilot prodigy named Teddy Netwall, who is recruited by veteran pilot Orlando Techson into the Planet Chasers Justice Force, a team so far composed only of him and special combat robot QT that intervenes with and dismantles corrupt intergalactic governments.
The film stars the voices of Adam McArthur, Tara Strong, Grey DeLisle, Rob Paulsen, Sam Register, and Samuel L. Jackson, and was the first from TW2011 Pictures and NovaStar Animation to be distributed by Fox since 2001's PuffRuff School: The Movie. It was also the former's first film to receive a PG-13 rating from the Motion Picture Association of America. The film's score was composed by electronic musician Daniel Lopatin, better known as Oneohtrix Point Never.
Planet Chasers premiered in Los Angeles on August 2, 2014, and was released in RealD 3D, Digital 3D, and premium large format theatres on August 15, 2014. It received mixed reviews from critics, who praised its animation and Lopatin's score but criticized its story as somewhat derivative. It was a box office success, grossing over $129.2 million worldwide against its $32 million budget, and was later released on Digital HD, DVD, and Blu-ray on December 9, 2014.
